Hampton Sidney Thomas (November 3, 1837 - May 21, 1899) was an American soldier who fought in the American Civil War. Thomas received his country's highest award for bravery during combat, the Medal of Honor. Thomas's medal was won for his gallantry at Amelia Springs, Virginia, where he captured a field battery, battle flags, and helped destroy a Confederate wagon train on April 5, 1865. He was honored with the award on January 15, 1894.
